My Approach

Greater clarity. Healthier relationships. Stronger leadership.

Coaching shaped around you

Coaching with Rooting Wings isn't a one-size-fits-all process. We begin with where you are, what you're navigating, and what you hope will be different.

Depending on your goals, our work may include guided reflection, thoughtful questions, practical exercises, strengths and values exploration, communication tools, leadership development, relationship dynamics, and—when helpful—the Enneagram.

My approach is Gospel-centered, which means our work is grounded in the belief that lasting growth isn't about becoming someone else, but growing in freedom, wisdom, and confidence in who God created you to be.

Enneagram-informed when useful.

The Enneagram is one of several tools I may incorporate into coaching. It can provide a helpful framework for understanding the motivations, fears, patterns, strengths and blind spots that influence how we relate to ourselves, others, and God.

You do not need to know your Enneagram type-or even use the Enneagram-to work with me.

A brief look at the nine Enneagram types

The Enneagram describes nine patterns of seeing ourselves, others, and the world. These descriptions are starting points for reflection - not boxes or labels.

Type 1: The Perfectionist

Type 1: The Perfectionist

Type 1: The Perfectionist

With a strong inner critic whispering how things should be, Type 1s are driven to do the right thing and make things better. When they rest in the truth that they are fully known and fully loved by Christ, they can pursue goodness without the burden of perfection.

Type 2: The Helper

Type 1: The Perfectionist

Type 1: The Perfectionist

Driven by a deep desire to be loved, wanted, and appreciated, Type 2s can begin to believe their value is tied to how much they do for others. Resting in Christ’s love frees them to care generously without needing recognition or approval in return.

Type 3: The Achiever

Type 1: The Perfectionist

Type 4: The Individualist

Type 3s can tie their worth to accomplishments, success, and how others see them. Resting in their true identity in Christ frees them from the need to prove their value and allows their gifts and drive to flow from who they are rather than what they achieve.

Type 4: The Individualist

Type 4: The Individualist

Type 4: The Individualist

Type 4s long to understand and express their unique identity and can become focused on what seems to be missing in themselves or their lives. Knowing they are intentionally created, fully understood, and unconditionally loved by God frees them to embrace who they are without comparison.

Type 5: The Investigator

Type 4: The Individualist

Type 5: The Investigator

Type 5s are thoughtful, perceptive, and driven to understand the world around them, often conserving their inner resources until they feel prepared. Trusting that Christ knows their needs and will provide for them frees them to step into life with greater confidence, connection, and generosity.

Type 6: The Guardian

Type 4: The Individualist

Type 5: The Investigator

Committed and security-focused, Type 6s naturally anticipate what could go wrong and work to keep themselves and others safe. As they learn to trust Christ in the midst of uncertainty, they can move forward with greater courage, warmth, and confidence.

Type 7: The Enthusiast

Type 7: The Enthusiast

Type 7: The Enthusiast

Optimistic, spontaneous, and energetic, Type 7s seek possibility and joy while often avoiding pain, limitation, or disappointment. Resting in the deep satisfaction found in Christ allows them to remain present even when life is difficult and to experience a fuller, more grounded joy.

Type 8: The Challenger

Type 7: The Enthusiast

Type 7: The Enthusiast

Strong, resourceful, and protective, Type 8s often guard against being controlled, betrayed, or vulnerable. Knowing that Christ is trustworthy frees them to let down their guard, embrace vulnerability as strength, and allow others to experience the tenderness beneath their strength.

Type 9: The Peacemaker

Type 7: The Enthusiast

Type 9: The Peacemaker

Accepting, patient, and naturally able to see many perspectives, Type 9s often seek harmony and can lose themselves in keeping others happy. Recognizing that their voice, presence, and desires matter to God frees them to engage more fully and confidently in their own lives.

What coaching looks like

Every coaching relationship is different, but the process generally looks something like this:

Start with a conversation

We'll talk about what's bringing you to coaching, where you feel stuck, and what you hope to gain.

Identify what matters

Together we'll clarify goals, patterns, strengths, challenges, and the areas where greater understanding or change would be helpful.

Do the deeper work

Through conversation, reflection, practical tools, and honest exploration, we'll work toward greater clarity and intentional action.

Move forward with purpose

Insight is only the beginning. Together, we'll translate what you're learning into healthier relationships, stronger leadership, wiser choices, and meaningful growth.

"If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36
